PES Bright Futures Play Academy

1. What does my child need to bring on the first day of play academy?

Your child will need to bring a pair of shoes to wear inside, a healthy snack, a water bottle (no juice please), and an extra set of clothes in a large ziplock bag. (accidents happen!)  Please let me know on the first day if you would like us to store your child’s extra set of clothes at the school, or if you’d like them to remain in their backpack.

Please label all of your child’s belongings, as they will be sharing a locker with other children.  If they have a backpack that will be going back and forth between home and school, please keep their extra set of clothes as well as their inside shoes in the backpack.  This will help prevent lost belongings.

2. What time does the Play Academy start and end.  When can I drop off my child?  When do I pick up my child?

Morning programs run from 8:15 – 11:15 and afternoon programs run from 12:00 – 3:00.   Please make sure your child has eaten before the school day begins.  We will have a snack daily that you will need to supply.  Please help your child get ready for school by having them put there outside shoes on the boot shelf, helping them put their inside shoes on, and taking them to the bathroom before they enter the classroom.  They will need to bring their healthy snack and water bottle into the classroom with them each day.  We will help our child get ready at the end of the day and once we see you we will let them leave.

3. Can I volunteer?

Absolutely!! I love having parents volunteer, and children love having their parents come to school with them.  If you would like to volunteer, you will require a criminal record check.  As a volunteer you can get a free CRC.  All you need to do is get a letter from me or the office stating that you would like to volunteer in a school.  Take this to the police station and they will provide you with a CRC in a couple of days.  Drop your CRC off at the school office and you will be put into our school’s system.  If you already have a CRC for a sibling at the school, please let me know.
